That certain swagger comes from right here in the Crescent City, and we’ve got some of the best around playing some old school funk for ya.
On Father Esther’s debut album, DDT, Terence Higgins (drummer, The Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Dr. John, Norah Jones), TJ Norris (bass, P.J. Morton, The Rumble), Ari Teitel (guitar, George Porter, Jr., The Rumble) and Andriu “Yano” Yanovski (keyboards, B3, The Rumble, David Shaw), joined by a few others, lay down some rad grooves to make you feel good.

This project is near and dear to our hearts, as it’s born of the very musical traditions that Old Saw Music co-founder Mark Braud was raised on. With so many multigenerational musicians in this band, this album is like a New Orleans musical family tree - the uncles and fathers and grandfathers of these incredible musicians also played together in generations past, and the traditions are clearly still alive and well!
